Blog 5b: Science Fair Proposal

1. Dance performance

2. To help your body perform its best, stretching will not only improve your flexibility and the ease at which you can move, but it will also help prevent injuries. Consider stretching as an element that is equally important as training for strength, balance and power.Citation: "Exercises to Stretch before Dancing." รข€” Dance Lessons, Learning, Entertainment, Lifestyle, Fashion, Wellness, Shopping, Supplies. 3.
If a dancer streches with a certain series of streches, then they will kick higher than if they used a typical stretching method.

4. I plan to stretch 22 girls out. The first day we will all do the same stretches and I will measure the height of the kick. The second week every girl will be assigned one type of stretch and a period of time of stretching. I will then measure the height of the kick after those stretches.  I will do that for 2 more weeks and  after collecting the data I will see which stretch helped most improve.

Problem Statement

1. Dance Performance

2. Too many injuries caused from not a proper warm-up, once I solve this I will teach the proper warm-up and stretches to girls in the studio I work at.

3. Dancer forgets routine while performing. To solve this, I would figure out a away that I could teach a dance and repeat it enough to get muscle memory so a dancer is able to perform and let the music flow through.
